Seasides

Ionian or Aegean, Sporades or Dodecanese, Saronic and Argolic gulf are here to cover your expectations. According to your needs the choice you will follow will vary from one side to the other.

Aegean Sea: Cyclades Area-here you will find more rocky and dry islands with a large number of calm bays and mooring locations

The sea is wilder someone could argue compared to the other locations we describe later on and sometimes the wind is stronger than normal. In Cyclades the sea is vulnerable to the so called “Meltemi’ which is the strong wind coming from the North. The timeline of “meltemi” shows that starts during June, becomes a bit stronger in July, has a peak in August and fades in September. The wind direction may vary from one group of islands to the other. In Northern Cyclades (Andros, Tinos, Mykonos, Kea etc.) comes from the North east, in center Cyclades (Paros, Naxos, Kithnos, Serifos, Amorgos etc.) comes from the North, in Southern Cyclades (Sifnos, Milos, Ios, Santorini etc.) comes from the North West and is significantly less strong.

It is true that the Cyclades is a destination where the required skills of the captain and crew should be more advanced. The facilities of the islands are in general up to a good standard (with some exeptions of course). The landscapes are wonderful and worth seeing. Apart from that there is no doubt that Cyclades consist of islands with unique beauty, history and definitely sailing adventure. You can always check our suggested itineraries depending on your time schedule.
